 WDWAHO S/S Nationals 2009
« Thread Started on Feb 6, 2009, 7:16pm »

WDWAHO Raceway resembles an old country drag strip.

Timed length is 8'-9" which equates to a 1/75th scale

1/8th mile drag strip. Actually it's a 16' long, two lane

oval track with a couple curves added into the drag

strip return road. Timing is by TrakMate for both the

drag strip and the oval track. Track power is by two

Gilanko 0-20 volt power supplies. One for each lane

and both set at 18 volts.

The rail is .013" high and the width of the rail is .060" Also the surface is Formica type laminate (Wilsonart brand). This track is custom built by Full Tilt Speedways

We will adjust the track power supplies from 12.98 to 13.00 volts. It's as consistent lane to lane as we can get usually. In otherwords, there is a slow movement of about .02 volts during the evening and every minute or so.

Here is a picture of Phil's track at Full Tilt Speedway's shop. Check out the return road.

Nice set up Phil. First class all the way. I'm looking forward to having my car ran at your guys track. Any chance of a fire burn out at your event :D

Very good chance. Just don't forget to tell me where to ship the charred remains. ;D

Here are some ET's for my track with the same dog S/S cars I sent last year.

Both of the cars that I sent to the 08 S/S race have been shelf queens since they got back. I did a very light cleaning of the shoes, very light oil and warmed them up for about 20 seconds. War Fish has some sever binding sounds that I tried to cure without any success short of a pull apart and rebuild. That would ruin the comparison to last years times so we will have to settle for the #46 entry, the cameo AMX.

Fortunately I kept the white file card that was sent back with the AMX that had the elapsed times on it and they were 3.512, 3.505, ??2.92, 3.170, 3.112 and 3.034 seconds.

On my shorter track at the same 13.8 volts the times were 1.336, 1.374, 1.383, 1.380, 1.366 and ?? 1.307. My track MPH is set up for an actual MPH and the MPH was 5.79, 5.45, 4.97, 5.47, 5.69 and 5.79 respectively. The 1.383 @ 4.97 MPH should be thrown out as the car was de-sloting as it crossed the finish line.

The best time I've run with a NTRA S/S legal car was a 1.254 @ 5.99 MPH at the same 13.8 volts. Somebody will easily set the track record I'm sure.

Hope this helps and see you at the line.
