 60's Promo Cars
« Thread Started on Mar 7, 2010, 1:58am »

Anybody know much about these cars? They are from the 60's and were ordered from Ford Motor Company. The T-Bird has some info on the bottom of the chassis about warranties and other related info about the 1/1 T-Bird. Both cars have the original boxes that Ford shipped them in. Both cars are in excellent condition. Anybody know what they might be worth? The owner doesn't want to part with them (I already tried :D ) but would appreciate any info.

Thanks

Promos can be really big at Model Car shows, it's not unusually to have as many as 3 vendors all with 50 to 100 Promos for sale. Certain cars can be worth a lot of cash, sometimes color rarity and a popular model can drive up the price.
I'm not an expert in Promos, but I think it's a safe bet that a Red Mustang 2+2 is a very collectible car and probably on the high end of value.
I'll see a Vendor named Steve Loban at the upcoming Slot Car Show, on April 11. He also does model cars, and Promos. If your friend likes I could inquire about a possibly value in todays market.

Most of these Promo cars were available and sold/given away from the dealer's 1:1 showrooms in the 60's. The bottom had facts about new 1:1 models for that particular year...RM
