 FIRST TIME RESIN
« Thread Started on Jan 29, 2010, 9:08pm »

Hi guys' I'm about to attempt my first resin casting, i have read some articles and watched a few tutorials but none of these were H.O specific, i would appreciate any tips or advice on the whole subject.

I would also like to know which brands of material is best.

This is for my own pleasure but i do intend to produce a a few extra body's if there is any interest, i will also take requests if there is a car you would like to see that nobody else is doing!

I will post some more pics of my work when things get going! ;)

Here is a couple web sites I used. Be ready for a lot of trial and era. Materials used are all personal preference. Read as much info you can find about shore values tear strength viscocity etc before you pour. Micromark.com sells a good starter kit.

Good luck and have fun with it. Here's a good starter kit also, http://www.smooth-on.com/Getting-Started-Po/c4_1217/index.html I'm sure there are other kits available...If you see you like it, you might want to get a pressure pot also...RM
